About Runic Translator

About Runic Translator

A free tool built for curious minds, creators, and history enthusiasts.

Why This Tool Exists

Runes are one of history's most fascinating writing systems, used by Norse and Germanic peoples for more than six centuries and carved into stone, metal, and wood across Northern Europe.

When we set out to learn more about Elder Futhark, we kept running into the same problem: most online translators were cluttered, inaccurate, or frustrating to use on a phone. We wanted something clean, fast, and historically grounded, so we built it.

Runic Translator was created to give anyone, from students and researchers to writers, designers, and the simply curious, a reliable way to explore runic script without needing a history degree.

What We Stand For

Accuracy First

Our translator uses standard Elder Futhark mappings grounded in ISO 15924 runic script specifications and widely accepted scholarly transliteration conventions. We do not guess. We follow the academic consensus used by linguists and historians.

Complete Privacy

Your text never leaves your browser. There are no servers receiving your input, no logs of what you type, and no hidden collection of your translated phrases. Whether it is a family name, a personal motto, or a draft inscription, it stays with you.

No Clutter, No Cost

No sign-ups. No paywalls. No account walls in front of a simple idea. Just a free tool that loads quickly, works clearly, and respects the time of the people using it.
